Behind the Scenes

The Museum of Anthropology is the only anthropology museum in the state of Missouri and one of a few in the Midwest. Its archaeological collections are recognized nationally as among the most important holdings of prehistoric material in the nation. Included in the collections is the largest holding of prehistoric Missouri artifacts in the world—millions of items dating from 9000 B.C. to modern times.
